You may wonder: with this site’s name, do I only post on Mondays? Nope.

I started this blog because I really do not like Mondays. It’s a real thing! In the workaday world — if “workaday” is even a word — it’s just often unpleasant to take the first step up the mountain of the week after the weekend.

(I’ve said on a few occasions I’d be in favor of eliminating Monday altogether and just having a 48-hour Sunday, extending the weekend and probably ending up with 10-hour workdays starting on Tuesday. But then, honestly, Tuesday would be just as bad, or worse, than Mondays used to be.)

And besides, with 24/7/365 connectivity, what’s happened with many jobs is that they never turn off. You can keep doing and doing and doing to no end, unless you set your own boundaries and almost intentionally switch off at some point. Burnout can be a real and palpable risk.

So to combat that sensation Mondays often bring, I honed in on it and decided to write more about the things I actually want to write about, or just write more and share more of my own stories and thoughts. I created this outlet to do just that.

The concept of IDoNotLikeMondays.com is to go on “excursions” of writing in that fashion. But what about?

In my career I’ve written about plenty of things, including health care and wellness, technology, trucking and transportation, history, general news, opinion and more. I’ve been around the block a bit. I’ve also been a photographer all along the way.

The idea is variety: draw from that experience and bring it to you.
