I’m not going to explain this one or set it down in words; you’ll just have to watch below if you want to know.
I will say this: it has to do with a song. One of the lines in said song is a nod/ tip of the hat to the great Binghamton, N.Y. musician and producer Jimmyjohn McCabe, who these days just goes by Jim McCabe. See if you can spot it, and check this out to learn more.
And I also want to acknowledge Michael Stephens, who many years ago helped me adjust one line in this song that made a key difference. Another who helped me modify something that also tuned things up in an interesting way was my late, very close friend and brother Daniel “Slano” Boyles. We all knew him as Slano, and he was a great help to me in many ways.
Miss you, my old friend. And Mike and Jim, just wanted to say thank you to you as well.
I’d also like to call out drumming phenomenon Chad J. Dean, all-around musical genius Timothy Walter White, and my longtime friend and brother (and pianist/ keyboardist) Daniel Corbin, all of whom I used to play this song with. Dan and I were just talking about it the other day, actually.
Enjoy, if you like, and find out what I’m talking about. This is a secret I’ve kept now for 23 years, but no longer. (Please note: If you have difficulty with the sound, please plug in headphones or try using an external speaker.)
