It’s a squirrel! A field mouse! A bird! Nah, just a leaf again.
As I swerve the car slightly to avoid some new rodent or little creature, here comes that realization I’ve had so many times. It’s a moment to chuckle at myself. These autumn leaf monsters can be aggressive.

It’s a time of year to love: not too cold yet, leaves are still turning, fall colors are popping up everywhere — and a sunny, blue sky can seem so bright and lively because of them. You know that phrase, “the dead of winter?” We’re not there yet.
Certainly, there are still things to enjoy when winter’s here, so I don’t mean to put down that season. But for now, fall’s a great time of year and you might as well drink it up.
And laugh it up while out on the road… just don’t swerve too hard.
